Padel Tournament Rules and Scoring Explained
The rules that decide matches, and the scoring that decides seasons.
Serving and the basics
Serve underarm below waist height, bouncing the ball once behind the service line. The ball may be played off your own back wall; hitting the fence on your own side before the ball crosses the net loses the point.
Short tournament formats
Rounds use shortened scoring — first to a set number of games, golden points at 40-40, and a fixed rotation clock. It keeps the day on schedule and gives everyone the same amount of court time.
Championship points
Your finishing position in each round converts into championship points across the men's and women's standings. Consistency across the season is what wins the title, not one big result.
